RMIT Hamilton - Cancellation of 2011 Nursing Intake
As many local teachers would have heard, RMIT University has cancelled the 2011 VTAC intake for its Hamilton-based Nursing degree (VTAC code 31011). This decision was only taken after the final number of eligible 2011 applicants was known. The program has been offered since 2001 and, while interest was strong in the early years with the program including many mature age students, demand has declined unexpectedly to the point that class sizes would have been well below viable size. RMIT has met with Deakin University (Warrnambool campus) to discuss the transfer of students who had applied/enrolled for 2011 commencement. Current second and third year students will continue to be taught at RMIT Hamilton. The Nursing degree at RMIT's Bundoora campus is unaffected by this change. A decision on 2012 intake for the Nursing degree at Hamilton will be taken in time to coincide with the production of the 2012 VTAC Guide.
