AHURI research projects are funded by the Institute’s core funds and also by external contracts. Projects are approved annually by the Institute’s Board of Members.
The broad research philosophy and objectives of AHURI are:
To carry out research of the highest quality
To integrate existing research expertise and resources, and to focus them on areas of high national priority
To identify research relevant to both policy formulation and implementation
To monitor current policies and developments and inform the ongoing debate on appropriate alternatives
To assess the social justice implications of current and proposed policies and processes, recognising the diversity of social need and requirements for equitable access in Australian society.
