Biotechnology

The School of Applied Sciences’ biotechnology research capability spans more than 70 projects over a number of specialty areas across microbial, environmental, food, veterinary, industrial biotechnology and bio-nanotechnology, with research grants for the last 5 years totalling more than $10 million. Biotechnology has become a significant driving force for the global economy, with outcomes that will benefit the communities and environments. It is also a priority area in the government agenda both nationally and internationally.
