Enrolment of research candidates

Commencing students

Local students – Refer to your letter of offer

International students – Refer to your letter of offer

You may be eligible for exemption from the mandatory Research Methods course. Please check with your School's Research Coordinator or supervisor.

Returning students

All research students must re-enrol as specified by the University until the thesis has been submitted to the School of Graduate Research for examination.

Late re-enrolment fees apply for students who do not adhere to the re-enrolment procedures. Details can be found at Late re-enrolment process for Higher Education students.

Cancellation of Enrolment

Students considering cancelling their enrolment are advised to contact their school and consult their program coordinator (or nominee) before completing and submitting the Cancellation of Enrolment form (PDF 27kb 2p).

Onshore International students

Cancelling your enrolment will affect your student visa. Students considering cancelling their enrolment are advised to contact their school and consult their program coordinator (or nominee). You must contact RMIT International Services at Building 22, 330 Swanston Street, Melbourne. Tel:+61 3 9925 5156 and the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) for visa information before submitting this form. Contact DIAC by telephone on 131 881 or through the DIAC website.
