The College of Science, Engineering and Health Engineering Prizes and Awards Ceremony held at RMIT's Storey Hall.
2012 Engineering Prizes and Awards Ceremony
Date: Wednesday 16 May 2012 |
The College of Science, Engineering and Health (SEH) Engineering Prizes and Awards recognise the academic and leadership achievements of RMIT University engineering students.
The College's four engineering Schools – Aerospace, Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, Civil, Environmental and Chemical Engineering, Engineering (TAFE), , and Electrical and Computer Engineering – present individual and group prizes to those students who have achieved academic excellence and contributed to the university life of their fellow students through leadership, initiative and engineering outlook. More than 100 students from the four schools receive awards at the ceremony.
The Pro Vice Chancellor and Vice President and industry partners such as ExxonMobil and Engineers Australia also present awards to students who have demonstrated academic excellence and contributed to the engineering experience in the University, engaged in community service or been active in the engineering profession.
The formal ceremony is traditionally held in Storey Hall on an evening in August and is always well-attended by students, family and friends, and academic staff.
After a welcome by the Pro Vice Chancellor and Vice President, a guest speaker gives an address on engineering achievements. The awards and prizes are then presented to the students. The ceremony concludes with refreshments for all of the participants.
Registrations for staff and students have now closed.
