Challenging the Stereotypes

RMIT University in Hamilton has been successful in obtaining funding for a workplace ‘Go for your life’ project. Challenging the Stereotypes is a local project delivering the messages of the Go for your life campaign in the areas of healthy eating, water intake and physical activity, both within workplaces and across the community.

The 2009 funding will provide fresh fruit for staff morning teas, the purchase of a treadmill to provide exercise options to staff and a lecture for both staff and community members that delivers information on being healthy.

The project is funded by the Department of Human Services and the Department of Planning and Community Development. The project is led by Western District Health Service in partnership with Southern Grampians & Glenelg Primary Care Partnership and Southern Grampians Shire and runs until June 2010.
