"Hard-core" studio draws upon the expertise of the lecturer and offers a catalyst for the exploration of unconventional fashion outcomes not possible in more traditional materials.
Utilising a suite of specialist machinery, the emphasis is on learning construction techniques, and developing garment concepts using heavy-duty materials. This includes, leather, denim, plastic/vinyls and other unorthodox materials.
There is opportunity to incorporate and gain proficiency in using “hard-core” fastenings such as studs, eyelets, webbing/strapping, miscellaneous saddlery and metal trims, hardware etc.
